The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic puts into circulation commemorative coins with denomination of 100 Som and 200 Som.  

 

Since October 20, 2014, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has been issuing commemorative banknotes of the national currency of the Kyrgyz Republic with denomination of 100 Som and 200 Som in honor of 150th anniversary of Toktogul Satylganov, the prominent Kyrgyz akyn (poet-improvisator), composer and trump player, and in honor of 100th anniversary of Alykul Osmonov, the famous Kyrgyz poet, playwright and interpreter, with commemorative inscription "Toktogulga 150 zhyl" ("Toktogul is 150 years old") and "Alykul Osmonovgo 100 zhyl" ("Alykul Osmonov is 100 years old").  

 

Description of commemorative banknote with denomination of 100 Som:  

 

Golden profile of Toktogul Satylganov is depicted against white background of the watermark framed with the national ornament and bluish commemorative inscription "Toktogulga 150 zhyl" ("Toktogul is 150 years old"). Commemorative inscription, ornament and profile are made by means of offset printing. The banknote is covered with special lacquer coating Securicoat™. Latent image is made by means of rainbow-colored image Dynamic©.  

 

Commemorative banknote has a serial number with initial abbreviation TS 150 (Toktogul Satylganov is 150 years old) followed by figures from 0001 to 3000. Issue limit of the commemorative banknote is 3000 pieces.  

 

 

Description of commemorative banknotes with denomination of 200 Som:  

 

Golden profile of the prominent poet with commemorative inscription "Alykul Osmonovgo 100 zhyl" ("Alykul Osmonov is 100 years old") and blue patterns in the form of waves are depicted against white background of watermark. Commemorative inscription, patterns and profile are made by means of intaglio printing technique.  

Commemorative banknote has a serial number with initial abbreviation AO (Alykul Osmonov) followed by figures from 0001 to 3000. Issue limit of the commemorative banknote is 3000 pieces.  

 

 

Commemorative banknotes have the status of a legal tender in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
