Banknote in the denomination of 2000 Som – “Best Regional Banknote of 2018”
The commemorative banknote in the denomination of 2000 Som was put into circulation on November 17, 2017 and is dedicated to several important events in the history of the country: the 25th Anniversary of independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, the 25th Anniversary of establishment of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic and the 25th Anniversary of introduction of the national currency.
2000 сом commemorative banknote was recognized as the winner of the international competition “Best Regional Banknote 2018” among the countries of the Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS countries within the International Conference “The High Security Printing Europe”, in Warsaw, Poland.
The “Best Regional Banknote of The Year” award is given for outstanding achievements in design, use of state of art security features in the context of artistic design, as well as technological equipment and security of the banknote. Meanwhile, special attention is paid to the reflection of cultural heritage and relevance of the overall design and symbols of the issuing country.
