A series of silver collection coins “Chingiz Aitmatov ’s works on coins” was awarded the Diploma of Honor from the Trade House “BIBLIO-GLOBUS” within the IV International Competition of Commemorative Coins “Coin Constellation – 2010” held in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Commemorative collection coins “Ch. Aitmatov”, “Jamila”, “First teacher”, “Mother field”, “Farewell, Gulsary!” and “White steamboat” are dedicated to the works of the world famous Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov, who is among the most widely read contemporary writers in the world. His works have been translated into more than 170 languages and published in more than one hundred countries with a total circulation of over 60 million copies.
