ь The NBKR Board regular meeting was arranged on December 17, 2008. In the course of this meeting the following questions were regarded and corresponding resolutions were accepted:
— on the declaration of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic on monetary-credit policy for 2009 (No.47/1);
— on introduction of changes and additions into the resolution of the Board of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic dated October 30, 2006 No.32/2 “On provision “On realization of the Islamic principles of financing in the Kyrgyz Republic with the framework of the pilot project”, registered in the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic dated November 30, 2006; registration number 120-06” (No.473).
ь On December 19, 2008, the auction on sale of new silver collection coins was performed. The collection coins include “Burana” and “Bishkek” of the series “Kyrgyzstan on the Great Silk Road” and “Capitals of the Eurasia Economic Community countries”. 14 bids with 20 coins were put up to auction.
Promotional prizes were awarded for active participants:
а) first buyer - «VIP-set of circulation coins»;
б) the most active participant who has bought the largest number of bids – the album «Numismatic heritage of Kyrgyzstan»;
в) participant who has bought the last bid – acrylic block with the banknote of the nominal with 1.
The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic issued licenses/certificates to the following non-banking financial institutions and exchange offices:

4. PE Udovenko Arina Aleksandrovna (License No 3822 dated December 19, 2008 for conducting cash foreign exchange transactions). Registration number of exchange office: 2081. Legal address: 27-20, 4 micro district, Bishkek;
5. PE Djarmagambetova Aida Oryngalieva (License No 3821 dated December 16, 2008 for conducting cash foreign exchange transactions). Registration number of exchange office: 2080. Legal address: 146-14, Abdrahmanova Str., Bishkek;

The NBKR revoked certificates/licenses from the following NBFI:
1. Licence No.3816 dated April 14, 2008 has been revoked from the PE Sabirov Tahir Rahimjanobich from December 19, 2008 on the basis of the application for discontinuation of activities of the exchange office dated December 18, 2008. Legal address: 119-17, Abdrahmanova Str., Bishkek;
2. Licence No.3476 dated December 26, 2007 has been revoked from the PE Orozaliev Rysmat Janybekovich from December 15, 2008 on the basis of the application for discontinuation of activities of the exchange office dated December 15, 2008. Legal address: 144, Abdrahmanova Str., Bishkek;
3. Licence No.505 dated January 25, 2006 has been revoked from the Credit Union “B.B.Bagyty” from December 19, 2008 on the basis of the minutes of general meeting on self-liquidating of the Credit Union dated December 16, 2008. Legal address: 1, Baytokova Str., Kuyruchuk village, Jumgal rayon, Naryn oblast.
A winner of the competition “Banknote-2008” was announced
The competition for the best banknote of the year was performed not long ago. The first prize was awarded in 2005. In order to participate in the competition, the banknotes should be issued in the year, preceding the year of nomination and be in circulation by the moment of competition performance. The banknotes are evaluated by such characteristics: color scheme, design and use of modern protective elements in the context of decorative appearance.
The winner of 2005 was the banknote of the nominal value of 20 Canadian dollars, in 2006 the winner was the banknote of 1000 crones of Faeroes, in 2007 the winner was the banknote of 1000 franks of Comoro Islands.
In 2008, 12 banknotes participated in the competition: 100 dollars of Fiji Islands, 200 Ukrainian grivnas, 50 Scottish pounds, 500 Nepali rupees, 20 Brunei ringgits, 20 kins of Papua - New Guinea, 200 Georgian laries, 200 Egyptian pounds, 5 Bahamian dollars, 20 Mexican pesos, 10000 Guinea franks and 10000 shillings of Uganda. Several tens of banknotes, emitted in different countries in 2007, were presented to the jury.
The International Banknote Community awarded the first prize to the winner of the competition “The banknote of 2008” - the Scottish banknote of the nominal value of 50 pounds. The jury by general consent agreed that this banknote is an excellent example of artistic execution, technical performance, unusual design and perfect quality.
