A meeting of President of the NBKR Z. Asankojoyeva with the working mission of the IMF Middle East and Central Asia Department, headed by C. Beddis, was held. During the talks the sides discussed the current economic situation in Kyrgyzstan, the improvement of anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing legislation, the development of the microfinance sector and other issues. The purpose of the visit of the International Monetary Fund representatives was to prepare the necessary information for the third review of the performance of the economic program supported by the IMF under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) mechanism, scheduled for September this year. 

The mission will continue to work in Bishkek up to 20 July, 2012.
