Board of the National Bank decided to determine insolvency of the "Manas Bank" CJSC and revoked its banking license since June 23, 2015  

Further special administrator appointment procedure shall be held in in the manner prescribed by the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic.  

 

 

Representatives of central banks of EurAsEC countries discussed urgent questions in the field of cash circulation 

A workshop on "On urgent questions of cash circulation" was completed on the beach of the Issyk-Kul Lake with participation of representatives of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, Peoples Bank of Poland, Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia, National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan and "DelaRue" Company.  

While greeting the workshop attendees, the Deputy Chairman Ms Baktygul Zheenbaeva pointed to topicality and importance of the subject and expressed her hope for fruitful and long-term cooperation between central banks of the EurAsEC countries. "The subject of cash circulation, issuing of collection coins, gold bars and sale thereof, counterfeiting will be discussed in the course of workshop. We shall tell you about our experience, at the same time we are interested in knowing about your activity in these areas. I hope the workshop to become a ground for knowledge and experience sharing", said Ms Baktygul Zheenbaeva by addressing to workshop attendees.  

Mr Aibek Toktosunov, the head of the Cash Transactions Division of the Cash Management Department of the NBKR, told about organization regulations and model of cash circulation on the territory of the country, production of currency notes and other valuables by the principal bank as well as about first issue of gold small bars.  

Ms Saltanat Aubakirova and Mr Victor Shablenko, chief economists and chief specialist-technicians of the Cash Transactions Division of the Cash Management Department of the NBKR, made presentation on money cycle, cash transactions regulation and procedure established in the country as well as on basic trends of cash processing automation in the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic.  

Specialists of regional departments of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic: Ms Gulmira Beishenbiyeva, head of the Money Circulation Division of the Osh Regional Department, chief specialists of cash transactions group of Talas and Naryn regional departments Ms Zhyldyz Borubaeva and Ms Aigul Esenalieva told colleagues from various countries about series of national currency of Kyrgyzstan, shabby and damaged banknote and coins exchange rules, doubtful banknotes examination procedure and about counterfeiting. It was noted that the counterfeiting level had been classified as the most minimum (lowest) in the country for 11 years.  

Further, workshop attendees watched a video clip about gold small bars of 1 to 100 grams weight of the National Bank issued in May 2015. Ms Bermet Esengulova, the chief specialist of the Cash Transactions Division of the Cash Management Department, noted in her presentation that issue of gold bars was focused on providing the citizens with alternative and reliable tool for investments, reduction of dollarization level of the domestic economy, attracting investments to banking sector and on development of precious metals market and mining branch of the country.  

There was also displayed a video clip about collection coins of the National Bank and made a presentation on types of commemorative coins issued since 1995 to 2015 and plan of issuing them till 2023 .  

Representatives of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus in their turn told about situation in cash circulation in Belarus by submitting an analysis for previous years, whereas representatives of the Peoples Bank of Poland told about details of cash circulation organization in Poland, cash assets storage, transportation and collection rules. As for representatives of the Central Bank of Armenia, they told about the role of the Central Bank in cash circulation system of Armenia, money circulation model and control and about collection coins issued earlier.  

Workshop attendees visited numismatic museum of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic. During the excursion, Ms Bermet Usubalieva, the chief specialist of the Documents Handling and Communication Department, informed guests about first means of payment and coins of antique and medieval states as well as about modern money and numismatic coins of Kyrgyzstan and other countries. Exhibit items of the museum include scarce coins and notes of various historic epochs, various types of securities that are of historical and numismatic value, foreign, anniversary and commemorative coins as well as banknotes of all four series of the national currency of Kyrgyzstan, collection coins issued by the central bank of the country between 1995 and 2015. Each item eternalizes the history of Kyrgyz people, nature and wildlife of the country.  

A workshop on "On urgent questions of cash circulation" was organized by the NBKR as a part of the Program for professional training of personnel of central (national) banks of EurAsEC member states. The event was held since June 23 to June 25.  

 

 

The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic gave a tour to children from the "Profession in Action" day camp 

Participants of the "Profession in Action" day camp visited numismatic museum of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, where experts of NBKR organized special excursion for children and lecture about national currency of the country.  

Excursion throughout the National Banks museum was devoted to money history. Ms Bermet Usubalieva, the chief specialist of the Documents Handling and Communication Department, told children about first means of payment being popular among people who settled the Kyrgyzstan territory and states around it hundreds years ago. Rare museum specimens out of the National Banks collection - animals skins, metal bars, first coins - served as a visual aid for excursion participants. Besides it, children were shared with interesting information about means of payment of antique and medieval states. Children showed particular interest in the history of modern means of payment including collection coins issued by the National Bank. Children could see all commemorative coins issued by the National Bank for the last 22 years. Among those coins, children could see coins with images of historical characters, architectural structures, Kyrgyzstan fauna and flora representatives as well as of outstanding events in the countrys life.  

Excursion attendees diligently asked questions about the national currency production process, counterfeiting, difference of KGS from other currencies. Mr Alexei Faleev, the chief economist of the Project Implementation Department of the NBKR provided detailed answer to those and other questions of attendees. At the end of conversation, Mr Alexei Faleev awarded the most active participant of excursion with a copper-nickel coin "Pobeda Peak" out of "Historical events" series.
