The banknote of 5-som denomination of 1993 tenor is made on white paper of 140х70 mm in size. The prevailing color of the banknote is green. The colorless fibers luminescent in ultraviolet light are implanted in the paper. The paper has the watermarks in the form of the "eagle", placed over the entire surface of the banknote. The banknote is printed by offset printing. 

 

On top of the obverse of the banknote there is the text "KYRGYZSTAN BANKY" and the figure with the inscription "5 SOM". In the center, at the left, the see-through register and the national ornament are located, while on the right - the image of the monument to the hero of the national epic "Manas". At the bottom there is the figure "5"; the text "BESH SOM"; the series and the number of the banknote are printed in black paint. The series consists of one figure and two letters, the number - of eight figures. On the white coupon field there is the signature of the NBKR Chairman (Toraga)

 

On top of the reverse of the banknote there is the figure with the inscription "5 SOM" and the text "KYRGYZSTAN BANKY". In the center, the Manas Mausoleum is painted (XIV в); the inscription "KYRGYZSTAN BANKY" in microlettering runs along the edge of the horizontal ornamental strip. At the upper right the see-through register is located. At the bottom there is the text "BESH SOM 5"

 

The banknote of 5-som denomination of 1994 tenor is made on white paper of 135х65 mm in size. The prevailing color of the banknote is dark blue. The banknote has the white field from three sides of 4 mm in width. The red, green and dark blue fibers, as well as the colorless fibers luminescent in ultraviolet light are implanted in the paper. The paper has the local watermark with the portrait of akyn Toktogul Satylganov. The vertically located security thread with the microtext "KYRGYZ BANKY" seen against the light is implanted in the paper. The banknote is printed by offset printing. 

 

On top of the obverse of the banknote there is the text "KYRGYZ BANKY", the signature of the NBKR Chairman (Toraga) and the par value of the banknote "5". In the center, in the national ornament, the digital par value of the banknote is located, while on the right - the portrait of Bubusara Beishenalieva - one of the founders of the Kyrgyz ballet - and the inscription "BUBUSARA". At the lower left there is the figure "5", the see-through register in the form of the ornament and the inscription "BESH SOM". On the right there is the vertical ornamental strip

 

On top of the reverse of the banknote there is the serial number printed in red paint, the text "KYRGYZ BANKY" and the figure "5". In the center the Kyrgyz State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre is painted. At the bottom - the serial number printed in black paint. At the left on the vertical ornamental strip there is the figure "5" and the text "Besh SOM"

 

The banknote of 5-som denomination of 1997 tenor is made on white paper of 135х65 mm in size. The prevailing color of the banknote is dark blue. The red, green and dark blue fibers, as well as the colorless fibers luminescent in ultraviolet light are implanted in the paper. The paper has the local watermark repeating the portrait painted on the obverse of the banknote. The window metallic security thread is implanted in the paper with the microtext "KYRGYZ BANKY". 

 

On top of the obverse of the banknote there is the text "KYRGYZ BANKY" and the signature of the NBKR Chairman (Toraga) with the raised relief; the serial number of the banknote executed in red paint; as well as the figure "5"on the right. In the center inside the ornament there is the image of the denomination "5" executed in silvery paint, the portrait Bubusara Beishenalieva - one of the founders of the Kyrgyz ballet - and the inscription "BUBUSARA (1926-1973)". The portrait and the inscriptions on the banknote are rough to the touch. On the white coupon field, the conventional mark is located in the form of the geometrical figure with the raised relief for the people with the weak eyesight. On the right the serial number in black color is located with the figures growing downward in size. At the bottom there is the figure "5" containing the microlettering of the continuous series of numbers "5", the text "BESH SOM" underlined by a line "KYRGYZ BANKY" in microlettering, and the see-through register in the form of the ornament

 

On top of the reverse of the banknote there is the text "KYRGYZ BANKY" and the figure "5" containing the microlettering "KYRGYZ BANKY". In the center the Kyrgyz State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre is painted. In the ornament forming the background grid, the microlettering that indicates the par value of the banknote ("Besh SOM") is located. At the left on the vertical ornamental strip there is the figure "5" and the text "BESH SOM", while on the right - the see-through register and the year of issue of the banknote which is "1997"
