ь On November 16, 2011 at the Board meeting of the NBKR the following issues have been considered and resolutions have been adopted:
· ” The Resolution № 55\8 on September 29, 2011” (№ 64\1) is acknowledged to be invalid by the NBKR Board
· “On making amendments and additions to the Regulations “On the minimum requirements for credit risk management in commercial banks and other financial institutions licensed by NBKR” approved by the NBKR Board №.52\4 on June 30, 2010” (№ 64\2);
· ”On approval of the “Development strategy of information systems of the National Bank for 2011-2015” (№ 64\6);
ь On November 10, 2011, the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic held a lecture for the students of economic department and law faculty of the American University of Central Asia on the theme “The role and functions of the NBKR”, as well as the stories about the framework development of the national currency.
ь The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic informs that on 2 November 2011, the Bank of England introduced a new-style Ј50 banknote into circulation. This is the first banknote of new modification in the world with the Motion® security thread.
Description of a New Fifty Pound issued in 2011
The predominant color of the banknote is red-burgundy. The size of the banknote – 156 mm х 85 mm.
The main image on the obverse side of the banknote is a portrait of the Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II.
The reverse side of the banknote depicts the portraits of famous British inventor and engineer James Watt (Watt), who perfected the steam engine for the industry, coined the term “horsepower” and gave this name to a unit of power measurement, as well as his business partner Matthew Bolton (Matthew Boulton); he promoted Watt with developments and innovations in the industry.
Key security features are:
watermark –an image of a portrait of the British Queen Elizabeth II, digital and denomination banknote pound “f”.
motion® security thread of new modification - security thread of diving type, green color with pictures of sterling symbol “Ј” and the number “50”, in transmitted light, the thread looks solid. When banknote is tilted, the images move in the windows and replace each other.
see-through register - nesting images on front and back sides of the banknote up to the light combine to form the sterling symbol ”Ј”.
relief of images on the front side of the banknote in the field of portraiture, graffiti and value.
The new banknotes with portraits of Watt and Bolton will be in parallel circulation with previously released notes with value of 50 pounds.
