The National Bank Management Held a Meeting with the Representatives of the International Monetary Fund Mission 

 

On February 4, 2016, a meeting was held between the National Bank management and the mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The missions stay in Kyrgyzstan was aimed at assessment of the macroeconomic situation for the forthcoming second review of the economic program supported by the IMF through the extended credit mechanism. During the meeting, the results of missions activity for the period of staying in Bishkek were summarized; in particular, there was discussed a program of state support for conversion of mortgage credits issued in foreign currency to the national currency. In this connection, emphasize was made on the importance of communication policy. The National Bank management and the members of the IMF mission shared their opinions about the promotion of draft laws in the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic applied to banking legislation and aimed at enhancing the banking system stability. The parties also discussed the current topical issues of financial sector functioning in the country.
