Parliament of Kyrgyzstan unanimously approved the report of the National Bank for 2013  

On June 19, 2014 deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic considered and approved the report on the activities of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2013. Corresponding decision was taken at a plenary session of Parliament.  

Bank’s Governor Mr. Tolkunbek Abdygulov presenting the report told about the basic parameters of monetary policy, about indicators of the banking system over the past year and situation on the currency market. "The monetary policy of the National Bank aims to maintain inflation at single digits. Last year, the NBKR task was to keep prices moderate growth rate, which were achieved in previous years. During 2013 inflation was at single digit level. It decreased from 7.5 percent to 4 percent over the year. Thus, inflation target of monetary policy was sustained" - he concluded.  

After the report of the head of the National Bank, the parliamentarians asked a series of questions on actual topics, also they were interested in the growth dynamics of non-cash payments, in solving of borrowers problems with lenders in the microfinance sector, including the disputed collateral evaluation, cancellation of the conservation regime in some banks, etc.  

In general, deputies noted positive developments in the banking and financial sectors of the country and outlined priorities for the work of the National Bank in the current year. All 88 members of parliament, registered at the meeting, voted "for" the adoption of the corresponding resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.  

President Almazbek Atambaev received Governor of the National Bank Tolkunbek Abdygulov  

On June 17, 2014 President of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Almazbek Atambaev received Governor of the National Bank Mr. Tolkunbek Abdygulov.  

Governor of the National Bank informed the President about the main directions of the financial regulator activities, noting the measures taken to reduce inflation, to provide stability and security of the banking and payment systems, to maintain the stability of the national currency. Mr. Tolkunbek Abdygulov also informed on the work carried out by the National Bank to promote the reduction of interest rates on loans in order to increase their accessibility, implement the responsible lending.  

During the meeting there were also discussed the measures on promoting the financial sector, provided by the National Strategy for sustainable development of the Kyrgyz Republic for the period of 2013-2017, in particular on the project of creating a "long-term money", the development of the banking system, microfinance.  

The President stressed that the National Bank is an important part of the financial sector, the effectiveness of monetary policy and achievement of sustainable economic growth, higher living standards largely depend on which.
