Marat ALAPAEV Chairman of the NBKR 

  

Marat Alapaev was appointed as Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic with the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic No 266 of May 19, 2006.

Marat Alapaev was born in 1961 in Bishkek.  

In 1984 he graduated from the Kazakh State University. Having graduated from In 1989 he defended his thesis at the Moscow State University after Lomonosov at the end of his postgraduate courses at the Economic Faculty.  

His additional education is financial management, macroeconomics, risk management, securities market, commercial banks management, etc. 

Alapaev started his labor activity in 1984 as Professor of Economics at the Osh Teachers Training College, thereafter - at the Kyrgyz State University; and in 19871988 he worked as junior research assistant at the Moscow State University. 

Having quitted from training, he became an expert-analyst in 1992, and after that - a Vice President of the Republican Real Estate and Securities Exchange.  

The same year he was the first in Kyrgyzstan to receive License No.1 for the right to conduct transactions with securities. 

Under M. Alapaevs guidance, two commercial banks were established that successfully operate nowadays as well.  

M. Alapaev is one of the heads of a financial and industrial corporation “Eridan”, and he headed the Board of the Eridan Bank. 

From 1998 through 2006 he was the Chairman of the Board of the Joint-Stock Bank “BANK-BAKAI”. At the same time, he gave a special course of lectures “Bank Development Strategy” at the Kyrgyz State University. 

An independent information agency three times awarded the Bakai Bank a title of the best bank in Kyrgyzstan during the period under M. Alapaevs supervision. 

In 2004, following a poll of opinions of heads of banks, M. Alapaev was named the best top-manager in the Kyrgyz banking system.  

In 2004, M. Alapaev was awarded a Certificate of Honor by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic for his merits in development of the banking system of Kyrgyzstan.
